Background: Autism is a developmental disorder in children with neurobiological developmental disorder (central nervous system) are accompanied by problems such as the problem of autoimmunity (immune system abnormalities), gastrointestinal disorders, amino acid imbalance in the body, the growth of Candida sp. in the intestine, intestinal leakage, and so on. Consumption of foods rich in carbohydrates cause a yeast infection Candida increased sp.Protein also required by Candida sp. for the formation of the cell wall chitin and nucleic acid formation by nitrogen, which are crucial for the growthof microorganisms.
Methods: The study design was a descriptive cross-sectional nature. The subjects of the study all children were diagnosed with autism in the study sites. The research subject is taken by way of non-random sampling method sampling saturated. Examination of the fungus Candida sp. made by examining the germ tube test and fecal samples were examined children with autism.
Results: The study subjects were obtained were 7 of them and who consumed the carbohydrate group has disaccharide ≥23,02 g abnormal fungal growth of 57.1%. Samples were consuming gluten protein with a frequency 10-13 times and 2-9 times during the intake of casein 5×24 hour food recall has not normally the growth of Candida sp. Samples were consuming fermented foods ≥397,4 g for 5×24 hour food recall has the growth of the Candida Sp. that is not normal.
Conclusion:The study subjects were consume disaccharide carbohydrate and protein and fermented foods increased boost growth Candida Sp.
